“ Reliable service and really delicious food for cheap. Don't skip it if you are in the area. I'd upload a picture of what we ordered, but we devoured it too fast! ”
“ These stars are just for the desserts.... We stepped in here to pick up few desserts after a lunch in Jackson Heights. All the sweets were good, especially liked the pink-bengali sweet. We also liked the milk sweets - katakand and the milk cake. Service was quick and easy. ”
“ Great prices, portions, and good food. Tried the chicken chapli kebab and samosa chaat which were really good. The samosa chaat was flavorful and the kebab was juicy. The chicken halim wasn't great, not enough spice and tasted like it was made from a packet and the rasmalai was too watery. All in all, food was mostly worth it and I would try out other menu items. ”
“ Ate here today by myself for lunch after work. I had tried, brought and ate the halwa puri combo that comes with hot chai. It was really good and delicious. The service there was attentive that I didn't feel rushed about what to choose a meal to try for the first time. I couldn't agree more. Finally, I would definitely eat and come back again next time! :) ”
“ 0.5/1 Ambience; 2/2 Food + Beverages; 1/1 Service; 1/1 Value Al-Naimat has been a staple among my friends and family for several years now-- it's a go to for authentic Pakistani comfort foods in an unpretentious, fast casual hole in the wall. Some items are made to order while others are heated up from the counter display. It is family friendly and they can accommodate large groups as well. Consistency is important for any good restaurant, and Al-Naimat caters to just that. I've been coming for years, and the food has not decreased in quality. My favorite is the chole bhature served with accoutrements and the chicken bihari kebab. The bhature are deep fried, pillowy perfection and the chole is flavored to perfection! The naan has always been fresh and made to order on every occasion I've been here. The chicken sheekh or chapli kebabs are also a really tasty, filling, and affordable meal. The chai is always piping hot and rich, and the perfect finish to a meal. The only thing so far I have not liked is the nihari, which was a small, bland portion of little meat in a watery gravy. The service is very casual with multiple servers waiting on you at any given point, and in general they are helpful and friendly. One plus is that there is a sink in the open for patrons to wash their hands prior to eating many of the dishes that are finger foods or traditionally just eaten with hands. Overall, I would rate closer to a 4.5/5 as sometimes the tables, floor and bathroom are not the cleanest. However, if you keep in mind that it is a hole in the wall where the focus is on the food and the food alone, you'll be very pleased with the quality of the grub at very affordable prices! ”
“ I have been coming to Al-Naimat for years on end, before the renovations and the plague and everything in between that has gripped the city. So yesterday when I found myself chomping on halwa poori, I asked myself why in God's earth haven't I reviewed one of my favorite Pakistani places yet? This restaurant is a true Jackson Heights hole in the wall. The vibe is dine in and casual. There are many tables inside, service is courteous and polite, everyone is super nice, friendly and accommodating. But the food - the food is outstanding. My go-to here is the traditional breakfast Halwa Poori. The pooris are always made well here - not too oily and fried perfectly. The cholay that come with it are reminiscent of true Lahori chikkar cholay - the perfect consistency and accurately spiced w black pepper. It's like I'm taking a trip back home. Achar is always a great side touch, and the fresh onions are chefs kiss. Halwa is sweet and soft and has just the right amount of ghee. If you are looking for an amazing Lahori style halwa poori in the city - THIS IS THE PLACE TO BE!! Over the years I've ordered and tried other things too. The chicken tikka masala is my absolute favorite. The sauce to chicken ratio is just right, and the sauce is thick and dreamy and has a great methi flavor to it. Their naan is always made perfectly, crisp on the bottom, pillowy on the top, perfect to split in the middle as you make the perfect bite every single time. They never skimp on the garlic either. Mango lassi is sweet and delightful, without the insane food coloring that other places throw in. Pani puri was amazing as well - it comes with all the accompaniments that one requires for a perfect blast of flavor every time. As a perpetually homesick desi person hunting pieces of my homeland across this city - the question isn't why would you come here, but it is rather why wouldn't you?! ”
“ My mom and I have always loved coming here. They upgraded the ambiance and seating and it looks great! The service could use some help since it took a while for our order to be taken and at the time only one server was managing more than 10 tables and I felt bad. Please hire more staff! The food is absolutely delicious and I love the Kashmiri chai, samosas and chole bature . ”
“ Soft chickpeas, fresh crispy puri and some standard halwa. The chai is thick and the chaat was fresh! Really hit home for me and I was just in two cities in Pakistan earlier this year. The servers are very sweet explaining things in Hindi and the service was fast. Best to bring some wipes to clean your hands! Someone else ordered a falooda and it looked really good, can't wait to come back. Went here years ago and it's just as good as I remembered. ”
“ Food was delicious, especially the chai. Plenty of seats inside with fast and friendly service! ”
“ Perhaps this is a review of favoritism but frankly speaking, this place has been incrementally doing better throughout the years. Even during the pandemic they renovated and continued to serve food and sweets. On a side note, my whole family and relatives have been buying their sweets from this joint for the past 2 decades or so, not because we're loyal but because their products are damn good ! It's a solid name that's been around for possibly over 30 years (can someone correct me because I started going here back in 1st year of college '94 O_o !). Rumor has it that there were 2 business partners of one restaurant and one did the other dirty, so he went off and opened his own joint as a big eff you...I love my people. I made my return appearance here and ordered a basic chicken biryani and channa masala. This is possibly your best litmus test as to how the rest of the menu will turn out. Channa masala is a staple and chicken biryani is the standard (not to mention chicken makhni). If you ever want to know how a Pakistani restaurant's food will turn out, start with these 3 items (chicken makhni being the 3rd) and move on to the kebabs and naan. The staff is friendly and helpful, tentative and the food came out rarely quick (10-15 minutes). I appreciated that the food was served in these copper dishes because styrofoam in the 21st century ain't gonna cut it. The rice was pretty much intact (another indicator that they are paying attention to quality) because usually if you see broken rice in your biryani, to me , the chef just didn't cook it with love. Chicken biryani on point ? Check . Channa Masala ? Check Check. And if you want a side of pickled vegetables called "achar" , just ask for it and they will serve it to you. It's a great condiment (along with raw diced onions and sliced green peppers) with such dishes. Serving size is quite generous for one person so expect to take the rest to go (if food coma is your forte , finish everything on your plate !) The icing on the cake is a piece of their sweets. I went with a small brick of pistachio barfi and tea. Barfi also comes in chocolate, almond, cashew and rainbow (maybe a couple of more variations, ask the counter for more info). All their sweets are addicting and can cause "crack-like" addiction. Tread carefully folks ! In a nutshell , this establishment started as a hole in the wall and worked its way up to massive street cred in the past 2 decades or so. Going to a family gathering and need to bring something sweet ? 2lbs of their mixed sweets will do it. Got a date who's into "exotic" food? Bring them here for the experience. Tinder match? Surprise em with Al Naimat (it's gonna be a hit or miss frankly speaking...your date that is). Feeling bored? Grab a lb of Jaleybi and have it with your choice of hot tea. If pakistani food and sweets ain't your thing but just gotta have something hot and interesting to drink, get their kashmiri chai...it's PINK! It's a solid spot. Take a crack at it. ”
